Our Story

Started by two brothers from Ventura, California, Aion Naturals began as a concept borne of necessity. We were facing new adversities during the caregiving process for our grandfather, Raymonde, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2015. In addition to a worsening mental state, Raymonde was experiencing persistent back and hip pain from decades of work at Dunlop Tire. To reduce the physical discomfort, he was prescribed opioid pain medication. After Raymonde started his medication even though he was taking his pills as prescribed, new symptoms developed. Raymonde’s pain medication side effects were so severe that the only option was to find an alternative. We introduced Raymonde to CBD, and he chose hemp to combat the pain. Consulting with a physician, we slowly tapered Raymonde from opioid pills while increasing his CBD dose. In less than two weeks, Raymonde was no longer afflicted by the terrible agitation, mood swings, and night terrors that were adding to his dementia-related confusion. He stopped having opioid side effects, his sleep returned to normal, his appetite reappeared, and his quality of life improved drastically. With its therapeutic qualities, CBD allowed Raymonde to shift from opioid pills to plant-based pain management.

Inspired by the idea that everyone should have access to functional plant medicine, we formed Aion Naturals.
